Day 1: 6 Week Challenge

[4/3/17] Today is the first day of my 6 week summer body challenge.



Early Morning Yoga(5 Min):

Late Morning Cardio: 40 minute walk ( 2.9mph), -while reading of course

Afternoon Workout: *workout challenge* 

Evening Yoga: 1 hour group yoga at YMCA


What I ate Today

*I start each day with a full bottle of water + lemon juice*

  • Breakfast: Smoothie-Kale, banana, frozen blueberries, frozen strawberries, flax seeds, almond milk, and orange juice
  • Snacks:
    • Fruit & grain cereal bar (apple Cinnamon)
    • Sweet & salty Peanut Granola Bar
    • Whole unsalted almonds
  • Lunch: Salmon, roasted brussels sprouts, couscous, & corn.
  • Snack:
    • Banana
    • Whole unsalted almonds
    • Peanut butter crackers
  • Dinner: Smoothie Bowl-Smoothie recipe above^(no orange juice and a frozen banana), topped with sliced almonds, chia seeds, grapes, and strawberries


Thoughts for day 1: 

Today was a good day. I tried not to obsess over making sure to work out or eat a snack. Our groupMe is sooooo encouraging because everyone is at different places in life, with their diet, and of course with exercise. Some people have personal trainers, some people work directly with unhealthy food daily. Some people have children, some have none and 1 is currently pregnant. It is a pretty cool group of women. So I appreciate having them to hold me accountable and I like being able to hold others accountable to their goals and lifestyle desires. As far as food, I used to struggle with feeling weak when I reduce my calorie intake and try different meal plans, but I was good today. I snacked throughout the day before I felt ‘hungry’ and I made sure to drink water periodically throughout the day and of course I added my lemon juice! Great first day.
